Choosing the right artboard is crucial for your portfolio. I recommend a sturdy artboard. And the size? Well, that depends. If you’re gearing up for school or a career move, always check the portfolio brief. Ensure you stay within the boundaries of their requirements.

Now, let’s get down to organizing your artboard layout. Think of it as a puzzle – each piece contributing to the bigger picture. And remember, it’s not just one artboard; it’s about the entire collection. Cohesion is key!

Figuring out the layout: Here’s where your personal touch comes into play. Experiment with background colors, but keep it consistent. Shapes matter too – mix it up, but don’t go too wild. Are you going for soft curved lines or more rigid lines with points? Choose the shapes and the contours that look good with your styles. Your artboard is a story in the making, and you want it to speak volumes.

Now, let’s talk stories – better known as Inspiration. What inspired your artboard? In my case, it was a majestic castle. The double vaulted ceilings echoed in my design lines. Now, think of the story you want to tell. For instance, my collection is tailored for a high-end customer attending a once-in-four-years gala at the castle.
