The constant experimentation with proportions, materials, and detailing by designers can offer so many varied looks. Since a cuff is often smaller than the sleeve, cuffs change the sleeve silhouette. Additionally, it allows a close fit since there are often buttons, snaps, or elastic that allow the hands to come in and out.
